The House or the Xi, as it is commonly known, is the center for all fraternal, rush, pledging, and social events of the Xi. It is also home to close to 20 brothers and Chique Chaque, the Xi’s eating club for all undergraduate brothers. Built in 1893, the Chapter House is situated on the corner of High and College Streets, one of the busiest intersections on the Wesleyan campus. A fact about the Chapter House that Xi brothers are proud to lay claim to is that the house was, in fact, the first of its kind. It was the first building in the United States to be built specifically for use as a residential fraternity. One can only imagine how monumental the construction of the Chapter House was to the brothers back in 1893.
